At the Toronto Comic Arts Festival last weekend, ace photographer (and karaoke-er*) Paul Hillier was kind enough to drop off some prints of a seriously badass Empowered cosplay shoot he had arranged. He took the concept of Emp cosplay to a whole 'nother level, via an exciting new frontier in costuming: painted-on latex! Not only is this arguably the ideal cosplay medium to approximate Emp's unearthly supersuit, it's definitely the best medium to depict the tearing of the suit's membrane (as seen in a photo emulating an Empowered cover, complete with logo).

(Note: At the very least, the YouTube clip of model Christine getting body-painted is NSFW. Your Mileage May Vary as to how Safe For Work the other images might be...)
*I had no idea that the lyrics to "Paradise City" were so bizarre and abstruse, to the point that Captain America(!) gets name-checked. WTF, Axel? Stumbling over the enigmatic lyric captions, I had to default to just banshee-shrieking "TAKE ME HOME!" over and over again.
